I think the description of Shushuk is quite unambiguous, and we all answered correctly. I didn't see any hints of a slicer or, in general, a continuous process there.
Even if we assume that everything is gradually cut off, it is still possible to nitpick the wording. Since half is cut off every hour, and after an hour, it's the next one's turn. That is, the first hour passes, and 2.5 remains, and then the second, and 1.25. By the end of the third hour, Shushuk should have only 0.625 left, but the problem states that he killed his tormentors three hours later. Of course, this creates a contradiction with the condition about one centimeter, and nothing in the problem resolves this contradiction, unless we take it as a fact that half is cut off here and immediately. Moreover, if we slightly change the wording from "three hours later" to "on the third hour," the conflict is easily resolved. At least, that's how I see it.
