Hmm, you posted a link to a thread stating that the creature ability mechanics are hardcoded into the executable file. I don't understand how this relates to assigning abilities to creatures, which is possible without modifying the executable!
The thread also states that the application cannot be edited, while the "roots" of the creature abilities are stored there. I manually entered the abilities in Notepad, in different locations (line placement), replaced the creature files of the Warlords of the Horde with the default ones from the original game, and tried different methods. I also activated the extended editor (following the described algorithm), but it was completely ineffective; the properties didn't open with a double-click. If there are additional methods, I am not aware of them. Perhaps I'm just inept and don't understand modding. I can't even change the levels of the Order of Order dwellings. )) That's disappointing. Only the basic characteristics of creatures can be changed by editing lines in Notepad. But that's not enough...
