About twenty minutes pass in anticipation. The pre-sunset rural landscape is somewhat charming. Sparse trees rustle slightly in the wind, orange rays dance on the dark surface of the pond. It’s a pity that the frantic bleating and the expectation of the monster prevent the paladin and archer from enjoying it. But now Unus hears a new sound – something large and fast slides through the water, and here Unus sees the head of the monster – healthy, crowned with horns, it only vaguely resembles the head of a snake or lizard. Gleaming yellow eyes watch Unus expectantly, but the paladin remains motionless. Naker slowly crawls out, no, rather emerges onto the surface, lazily moving its short but powerful legs and approaches the sheep. The creature is at least fifteen meters long.
Up until this point, everything still seemed to be going according to plan, but naker makes its own adjustments. Having approached the bait almost directly, it suddenly recoils from it, and its attention is now focused on Unus. With an angry hiss, the monster moves towards the paladin; its movements are no longer a lazy shuffling of paws, but a quick, agile half-run, half-slide. And yet, the paladin can still strike first.
You can hit or shoot naker in the head or any other part of the body. In the first case, accuracy will be lower, but damage will be higher.
By the way, I don't even know if I should consider this as a bonus for the islands or not. On one hand, this is your "ambush." On the other hand, naker was the first to show direct aggression. Well, morning is wiser than evening.
And another question regarding rebalancing concerns shooting range. It’s not so much a matter of balance as it is a matter of map convenience.
