Don't attack the treasure chambers of mages until you've fully developed your Necropolis faction (with skills like Subjugation and Vampirism).

I don't understand the advice. If a spell is obtained in a dungeon, treasure chamber, or pyramid, it will appear in the spellbook as soon as the hero reaches the level required for that spell. So, you can attack them at any time.
