Ad aspera

You can use any equipment - weapons, armor, shields, ranged weapons - even without a specialization. Does the specialization in this system only determine the possibility of receiving additional bonuses?

If the answer is "no, you cannot use equipment without the corresponding specialization," then how do armor pieces work? If the specialization is not taken, can neither light nor medium armor be worn?

All weapons have no penalties; access to special skills and specializations will only be restricted.
