After the 0.34-0.36 update, the lumberjack's axe stopped working - "No trees nearby."

I checked, and everything works fine. Did you use the ability right next to the trees? Due to the specifics of their models, you need to approach some trees 1-2 squares closer than others to be able to chop them down.
