It is quite possible to calculate the basic actions (wait/morale/speed) in about a minute. I have done this repeatedly and seen others do it as well. If you do it regularly and use a calculator, the difficulty decreases significantly, I guarantee it. Moreover, this is a rather selective calculation that is needed at some critical moment in the game: for example, when it is necessary to use a paladin to outpace a subordinate stack or something similar.
