If you like the first option more, it's almost ready, and you don't see any major problems with its implementation, then I would advise you to choose it, especially considering that with the second option, you immediately allow for a whole range of potential problems. Better to have a bird in the hand than a crane in the sky. Besides, I'm not sure what prevents you from continuing Serberia *after*, rather than instead of, the first option. Maybe new ideas will come to you during the game. Or you'll come up with a way to improve the old ones.

Personally, as a player, I am quite happy with both options. Seeing a continuation of Serberia personally (and participating in it) would be interesting, but there are also enough ideas for a more free-form expedition that would hardly be feasible in the Serberia option. So, if I had to choose between them, I would choose the option that you find most comfortable for yourself.
