and once again, it's off-topic, but now I'll defend Swamp... I also have the impression that you haven't played as Swamp...
1) In 9 out of 10 cases, Wyverns are built on the 1st week along with the Stronghold, or even with the Castle...
2) Swamp creatures aren't weak; they're actually very strong. Just look at the Gorgons... and the Vassals...
3) And I completely disagree with the last point. While Archers are marching, Wyverns will have already flown to them, and it doesn't matter if there's no mass slow...!!!!! So, that's it...
by that time, improved level 7 creatures will already be available...
by that time, you'll have them too, if not sooner. Hydras, with the availability of sulfur, are built on not very rich maps on the 2nd week (at worst, the 3rd)...
If you don't believe me, you can check out my last game (saves are available) with Dudgem (as part of the "Seasons" tournament... he played as Swamp, and I played as Rampart... he beat me, even though my stats were better... but it was all decided by the Wyverns and the advantage in his army...
There's nothing good about this faction, there's nothing.
Oh, come on, there is. 4 out of 7 levels have their own magic... and it's very useful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! + the faction's development speed at the start is fast, due to the low requirements for various resources... only wood and ore=)))
