Who was talking about overpowered samurai? Apparently, I'm the exception. He couldn't do anything to the weakened warrior; he just served as a punching bag.

In the past, Detlef was clearly a mighty warrior, and even in his current state, he far surpassed Rohei in skill, easily dodging all his attacks that he didn't parry. But the illness clearly affected him; his strikes were accurate but weak, and what ultimately let him down was his slowed reaction speed, which meant the samurai always had time to recover from his blows. It's unknown how long this would have lasted if Detlef hadn't eventually run out of strength – in fact, he was defeated solely by his own illness.
