It couldn't be said that working at the crowded and filthy market particularly appealed to Alessia, but work is work. There's always work, and it wasn't her place to shirk it. This time, however, she unexpectedly decided to take a break from her labors... in church — either out of a desire to once again uphold her image as an ideal citizen, or because, bored and clearly starved for secular reading material in Baldr, she was already prepared to turn to church books, which she had avoided all her life. But after Jan Dere's opus about Airisufir's "special path," it was too late for her to boast of being selective in literature.

Having gone through the books and noted to herself every display of poor taste in the valkyries' attire — oh, Alessia had a sharp eye, especially for other women's flaws, as is commonly typical of the female sex, but hers far more so than usual — and the vulgarity in some overly pompous faces, she finally picked the one that impressed her most and delved into reading.
