As Kalentia strolled through the town, she found her thoughts shifting from Akate's enigmatic prophecies to the equally mysterious girl who had been found by their party in the forest the previous week. The circumstances in which Ea was found were anything but ordinary. It was unclear how, why, or for what reason the girl had ended up in a tree hollow – it felt as if she was a creation of the tree itself. Reflecting in this vein, the Argalian began to mentally review the myths and legends she knew about supernatural beings connected to natural phenomena, or even specific territories. This continued until she remembered stories about the "Age of Gods" and the "Era of Chaos" – a period of time when Arteria and other deities walked the world in physical form. Deities, each of whom was a patron of their lands and came into being on their own, rather than through the same methods by which mortal creatures were born. By the end of this era, no deities remained in the lands of Vusteria – it ended with even Arteria parting with her physical form. But what if other deities, over time, could regain their physical form? What if Ea was not just an ordinary mortal girl, but someone akin to them? And what if the forest spirit and dendroids were protecting someone they saw as something greater than themselves? These questions troubled the girl, and ultimately, she decided to share her thoughts with Uncle Gungnir – if only to have him tell her that she was simply letting her imagination run wild.
