How difficult would it be to make a port of the Forge faction from Heroes III on this patch, or your own analogue?

God, why would you even want that Forge! The "Heroes of Might and Magic" game series was deliberately separated from the "Might and Magic" series.

Heroes of Might and Magic took off in its time precisely because they looked like a fairy tale, fantasy. Not technomagic.

It was only later, riding on the success of "Heroes," that they decided to mix their older brother series (Might and Magic) back into the fantasy universe. And they got an aggressive reaction from the community, which already imagined "Heroes" as a fantasy fairy tale.

The final tally of emails we received asking to exclude Forge was less than 100. I doubt 3DO received many more. The Heroes series sold over 750,000 copies worldwide. I would be surprised if more than 5% of that audience 'boycotted' the product. However, I still felt that even 5% was too many.

YES. Science fiction is the foundation of the Might and Magic universe. It is the reason the MM universe exists. At its core, Might and Magic, which are the basis for the advancement of civilizations — those who don't have them descend into barbarism. If you disagree, then the reasoning is emotional, not logical. Many people forget that Hell is not populated by demons. It is populated by aliens who resemble demons. If I told you the origin of the Arch Angels, I'm sure many of you would have a heart attack.
