Those who reproduce or do it "protected" after having a child usually either successfully pawn off the offspring to the older generation, or in their home children grow up like weeds because they're simply not taken care of. Both are essentially marginal scenarios. Responsible people spend too much time and energy on a child to have any resources left for lifer activity.
