Thanks to his keen observation, Orwald notices that most of his temporary allies are behind him, while rivals from different teams are nearby. He therefore decides to fall back, so as not to expose himself to attacks from all the nearest opponents. Moreover, this maneuver offers a chance that they will start fighting each other. The Knight can only hope that his young comrades have enough sense not to jump into that scrum, though the odds of that were not very high. He was quickly proven right on that last point.
