I created one specialization, Warlord (which was missing), and 35 heroes in my game sections. I distributed all the new heroes among the factions and added armies and some abilities (which were missing) to all the existing ones. I suspect that abilities somehow drop off on their own. I was working on the orcs, then added armies to them, but some of them lost their abilities (Memory of Our Blood, Reinforcements). I also fixed the description of the Swift Fighter specialization and Vingael's — the percentage was incorrect. I took it from the manual and checked it in the game.
In the knowledge base, there are War Machines that are given to some heroes from the start, but there is no "War Machines" option itself, where when creating a hero card you choose the specialization, faction, army, etc. If it gets added, I'll go through the relevant heroes and make the edits.
All of this on the screen does not relate to Tactics. There should be Vigilance, Experienced Warlord, and Prayer. But it says not mod 5.5, but the original game data. And so, probably, in all primary skills. And I couldn't find another Tactics.
Thank you for the detailed report.
I fixed the data, the form, and added the link type "Starting War Machines".
The 5.5 abilities were tied to the original game's skills, so they appeared twice for primary skills, and for racial skills, the mod's abilities stood in place of their own. Now each Heroes V skill has its own three abilities (for the Knight skill — Vigilance, Prayer, Experienced Warlord; for "Blood Rage" — Strength Against Magic, Memory of Our Blood, Reinforcements), and 5.5 has separate entries in the "Heroes 5.5" section with its own abilities. Heroes 5.5 reference them.
Regarding the abilities dropping off. The issue was in the form, not in saving: if in the link row you first selected an object (e.g., "Memory of Our Blood") and then the link type ("Starting Ability"), the selection was silently reset. Now the selected object remains if it fits the new type. Everything you saved did reach the database — only what the form managed to reset before saving was lost. If you notice a missing ability on a hero, add it again — now it should save.
