Two options for healing:
1. Stay in place. Then next turn you can strike with the sword, but first you'll have to take a shot from him.
2. Run to a safe distance and heal, but then next turn you can only shoot.
Darkness is so imbalanced that Arandor almost kicked me to death under it...
