What's much worse is the 5% guaranteed hit chance introduced by "someone," because I was planning to stack evasion further in the future, and now I can't even get a rough sense of how it would develop.
I generally think it would be more logical to make the accuracy and evasion system a double roll. First an accuracy roll. If it passes, then an evasion roll. Otherwise, even the most clumsy hit lands on a paralyzed target...
But paralysis simply removes the target's dodge, meaning you can miss a paralyzed character. And you're suggesting a very clunky mechanic. It'd be simpler to just set a fixed threshold for defense/dodge that the attacking character has to beat.
