Round 2, fight 2.

Milord Lester Vargas V vs. Milady Alaria Doran

The battle began with three strikes in a row that had already become customary, one of which inflicted a physical injury on Alaria. The other two, unsuccessful ones, seemed to morally break the young woman. Though, when someone is trying to stab you with a dagger at lightning speed, not giving you even a chance to react, you can indeed feel, to say the least, out of your element.

In response to such attacks, the young woman decided to launch a fiery assault, which set Lester Vargas's body ablaze. It seemed he should have focused on putting out the fire, but instead he clenched his willpower and performed his usual series of strikes. He didn't land a hit on her body, but Alaria once again fell into a despondency foreign to ordinary warriors.

In fact, for some time the battle looked roughly like this: the still-burning Knight of Dawnsteel kept swinging his dagger through sheer willpower, missing the Knight of Catharsis again and again. She seemed to fend off his attacks in return, but at the same time kept sinking into despair. It was probably hard to keep up with such swiftness. And not all of her attacks were successful either.

Part of the battle the knights spent recovering their health, but for the most part they actively exchanged blows. And while one kept burning, the other seemed to sink deeper and deeper into despair. And at some point, the battle and the endless warding off of the dagger flashing before her eyes exhausted Alaria so much that she simply... gave up. The young woman lost all her mental strength to continue the fight, lowered her arms, and ended the bout. In doing so, she not only secured a second consecutive victory for Lester Vargas but also sent him off to treat those infamous burns, which, frankly, were painful for absolutely everyone to look at. What willpower!

Notes: one of the strangest battles of the round, if not the entire tournament. Losing to the failed attempts of a fully burning opponent trying to attack you takes real skill. That said, the fight was one of the most exhausting.
