While I was sending the previous message and everything was freezing, I looked in the browser's Process Manager and hw was eating more than a gig of memory, not counting video, screenshot, alas, I didn't take one. I don't know, maybe it's normal for a modern engine. So I'll be like a cuckold, just watching from the sidelines what's going on here.
That's clearly something abnormal, need to investigate. I set the same theme, also measured one tab, only 133 MB total and no CPU load.
I'll keep looking for what's eating memory.
It probably accumulates over time, maybe it's not important. The CPU is indeed constantly jumping there too. Well, Minimalism is a bit lighter, I guess, for now I'll watch on it.
I managed to reproduce the problem, spent about 5 minutes sequentially opening different sections of the site and got up to 1 GB. It's a FireFox issue. They say it's some problem with ghost windows that FireFox just won't fix. It doesn't clear pages and just accumulates them, the profiler showed that after my experiments there were more than 50 such ghost pages, and there was only one tab.
