By the way, after your comment I remembered the statistics I gathered about three weeks ago.
So I just thought it over and recompiled them, taking even more details into account. The percentages came out almost the same as the first time.

The table shows the number of real people (not accounts) playing various games over a 1-2 week period.
PC + Consoles only, no mobile gaming.
With a multi-gaming coefficient of 1.3, each real person is counted as playing several games simultaneously, and the table totals 1690.0 million.
The top-20 games were picked by AI based on worldwide statistics (the important thing there is that China has a whole different market with tons of gamers), and I asked to add the games outside the top-20 because I wanted to.
The top-10 "endless" games took up ~50% of the share combined, single-player games about 20%.
