Like Gulveig, Renold was one of those Kalentia wanted to fight. The reason was their shared mentor – the girl knew that someone who had trained under Gungnir would not disappoint her and would likely smooth out the remaining unpleasant impressions after sparring with her friend. The duel turned out to be short – the Serberian deftly dodged the first spear thrust, while the Argalian's second attack found her opponent just as her own was struck by his saber. The only difference was that while Kalentia could still somehow continue the fight, Renold clearly had no strength left. Victory. Close to a draw, but still a victory.
“You didn’t hold back,” the girl winced slightly in pain. A moment later, she extended her hand to her opponent to help him get up.
