After completing basic training in the art of shinobi, his master informed the young warrior that it was time to apply the skills he had acquired. Together, they set off for Serberia, where Ryohei would have the opportunity to prove himself in his new specialization. However, things did not go as planned... When they arrived in the Barony of Baldr and stopped at the tavern of a border settlement, Ryohei, according to his master's instructions, went to buy provisions, and when he returned, he was met with a terrible sight – the tavern was in complete disarray, the floor was littered with broken glass and pieces of furniture... As well as blood and dead bodies, among which lay his master. According to witnesses, he had argued with some local thugs for some reason, which led to a drunken brawl. Toshiru was repeatedly hit with knives and clubs, but with his last breath, he caused a real massacre and took his killers with him.
Ryohei could not believe his eyes. Could his master have died so quickly and absurdly, having barely arrived at his destination? And was this place his destination, or was this barony just a transit point? Without giving him any further instructions, or even a hint of why they had come here, Master Toshiru left this world along with his vague aspirations. All that remained was his book about the teachings of Tomoe. In an instant, the young man became alone in a foreign land, without a purpose or means of support.
Fortunately, or perhaps not, the Mirai are not frequent guests in Baldr, especially such young ones, so his visit did not go unnoticed, and therefore, Ryohei soon appeared before the ruler of this place, who suddenly became interested in such a trivial thing as a tavern brawl. But the young warrior had no answers for Gungnir, except that he was left with nothing. It is unknown how much the baron believed the newcomer from the distant islands, but he did not expel him, instead placing him in his shelter, where both local orphans and strangers tried to find themselves in a new place.
For Ryohei, however, this turned out to be not easy, and soon he became known as a rather unsociable, although responsive, person. The only one he communicated with a lot was Eisen von Mariendorf, who became his mentor and continued his training. Although the young man was not sure that the Serberian aristocrat could reveal the secrets of shinobi mastery to him, this became a glimmer of light in the thickening darkness, something that gave meaning to the fact that fate had brought him here. This was also facilitated by the fact that Eisen understood what it was like to leave his homeland at a young age.
Two years passed. Eisen arranged for Ryohei to work in his clinic, where he put the art of healing, which he had taught him, into practice. The young doctor showed promise, the Mirai enjoyed his work, but as time went on, the spirit of adventure began to awaken in him again. He wanted to return home and find someone who could help him become a true shinobi. The main obstacle to this was the lack of funds for such a long journey. This was also the reason why the young man still lived in the baron's shelter – instead of setting up his own home in Baldr, he planned to save money for a ship and sail to the islands of Yamato, where, as he believed, his place and his destiny were.
He did not tell Gungnir about his plans, although there was a suspicion that the baron guessed them. In any case, Ryohei began to look for additional ways to earn money in addition to working in Eisen's clinic, and who knows what this will lead to...
