You're seriously nitpicking a joke that clearly isn't meant to apply to all men.

It's just not the first time I've seen this joke, and every time I see it, it's from people who, in one way or another, have previously complained about "depression," while being men. It feels like these people, at the same time as the "funny" context, are trying to show how difficult it is for them - even though they haven't performed the action in the picture.

And it clearly hints that they complain to others about their bad emotional state much less often.

This topic and my personal experience are certainly anecdotal evidence, but they suggest the opposite.
