HoMM3 HD is a mod (add-on) for the game Heroes of Might and Magic 3.

The author is probably already aware, but just in case, I'm writing that the latest updates, RC27 and RC28, have broken the Verok mode. The game simply doesn't launch and displays an error. Everyone had to switch to GDI.
