Tactics for the Stronghold.

Does anyone know of a population where "hobgoblins doubled their population"? And unupgraded "creatures" are quite capable of such a population, as are dogs.

Just recently, I had a "hobgoblin double its population."
By the way, please explain the nuances of monster weeks and months to me!
I've discovered a terrible gap in my knowledge.
