In TES, there really is no point in playing on high difficulties, as it only adds unnecessary grinding.

I don't remember how it is in other games in the series, but in Skyrim, I would say the situation is the opposite – there is no point in playing on anything other than high difficulties, as otherwise the game becomes too easy.
