Gift edition: to be or not to be?

In the gaming industry, a certain trend has emerged: high-profile games are often released in two versions – a standard one and a special edition. The standard edition is straightforward – it's just the game. However, the special edition deserves a closer look. On the one hand, fans of the game will appreciate it: the special edition comes in a solid and beautiful package, and includes additional content: multi-page materials about the game, discs with "making-of" content, "music from the game," figurines, booklets, tokens, t-shirts, and other items featuring the game's logo. It's something you can proudly give as a gift and also enjoy owning yourself. But every medal has its downside. In this case, it's the price. The special edition costs more, and considering the large size of modern games (hello, collection of 400 best strategy games), the price can be quite hefty, even for working people, let alone the main consumer group – schoolchildren and students.
