Okay, so the answer is positive. This pool is planned for the Facebook tournament.

For the offline tournament, it's still acceptable (although some people were drawn in by the announcement, and then skipped rounds with "surprises," while still being at the top of the leaderboard). But for the Facebook tournament, I think this pool is inappropriate. I doubt I'm the only one who thinks so.

Do the people who have direct access to the final stage know what they're agreeing to? Or are they also not yet aware of what awaits them there?

Yes, this is your tournament. You have the right to set any templates. But players should understand what they are signing up for and how they will spend their personal time, and based on that, they can decide whether to participate or not.
