"Swiss System - I"

I restarted the first map.
In the second map, I got discouraged when I saw my opponent had Dugald with two hidden archer huts. I didn't get Hag. I spread out my heroes, leveled up two roaches with the Goblin Support skill, and bought Daleb in the tavern to collect gold.
Garuna got a log and wagons with a healing kit on level 5. In the middle of the second week, I broke through to the Mine, which is huge, but at least it has a hidden cyclops hut. When I was defending the ring of wagons, I lost 69 centaurs out of 96 on level 129 mages. I was looking for a passage to the adjacent area and had to choose which of the two remaining unexplored portals to go through. I chose the one closer to my hero; the second one was three days away along the Path of War. I cleared my side, our interests intersected, and I thought I was breaking through there. I cleared the outer guard on the same turn; the portals in this area are close, so I chose the nearest one and ended up in my opponent's starting zone, almost right in front of their city.
I attacked, and they had a roach with almost all the available creatures. Garuna, with a marching speed of 22, 5 cyclops, 90 centaurs, and 140 hobgoblins with bows and the ring of wagons, was mowing them down. My opponent surrendered because Dugald was far away and had practically no army that could defeat mine.
