I had better luck with hero leveling, and there was no Conflux. Also found a big Dragon Utopia (mostly from gold). In the late game, it decided the outcome when capturing towns.

Yeah, my opponent taught me a lesson on the mirrored map. I was ahead in army and castles, but a large number of heroes with Earth magic, boosted through stables, simply captured all my castles in 2 turns).
