With the introduction of the online lobby, the need for a forum as a platform for organizing games, maintaining statistics, and tracking rankings has diminished. It's now easier to run tournaments on challonge.com. This is the result.
Forums, in general, are becoming less relevant as a place for communication (I can confirm this based on other games) – communication is shifting to thematic Discord servers, etc.
