I see the clue to the murder of Neb and Fragment in the phrase "Looking around and glancing back." I can't imagine anyone saying that about themselves, but I can easily imagine the Russian opening of King of Shamans, which begins with the phrase "Look around, glance back." I don't think the spirits want to contact us, but I think we should investigate in that direction.
