A) It's not beneficial for the killer to stay idle; they need to get one kill to stack protection for themselves, and then they can sit at home and let the blocked players take the fall.
Basically, I've already shared my thoughts on this. Perhaps they had immunity, meaning a free night, and decided to kill on the next night. Perhaps they simply didn't want to be mentioned in the newspaper; I think this is a logical option, especially after the previous mafia game where there was no visible action from the survivor throughout the entire game, and as a result, no one had any good assumptions about them.Author
