CIS-2021 in Moscow – is it worth the effort?

About 2 and a half weeks before the deadline for the prepayment, I asked around if anyone knew if there were people willing to organize the CIS tournament for 2021. The answer was negative. Around this time, the company that was helping me find a venue for the November tournament asked if we were interested in any resort facilities. I replied that yes, we could consider it. They offered me 5 options. While I was still deciding, 2 of the facilities were taken, and I went with a lieutenant to inspect the remaining 3. For our purposes, the northern shore seemed ideal – water, excellent internet, very close to the city, and lots of other entertainment options. I agreed that we would give them an answer within the next 2 weeks and asked them to hold the facility for us. At the November event, I asked again if anyone had heard whether Moscow would be submitting an application – the answer was negative. After that, I called the resort, said that it was preliminarily suitable for us, and asked them to hold it for another week, and I posted an announcement on the forum. Judging by the results of the vote and the communication in private messages, people supported this option, so tomorrow we will make the prepayment (without it, no one will hold the facility for us anymore) and sign the contract. The fact that Moscow didn't manage to agree, even on submitting an application, is disappointing. That's all I can say. I hope that the 2022 tournament will be organized better.
