CIS-2021 in Moscow – is it worth the effort?

Since this year, Moscow has unanimously failed – I'm talking about the leading figures who all said they don't want to do anything and have no intention of doing so.

This is the main problem why a CIS tournament in Moscow hasn't happened yet – the lack of decent local organizers who can get off their backsides, travel around to check out venues in person, make a down payment from their own pocket, even if only partially. And, in the end, organize other people to help. Moscow is a big city, and to find the right option for our needs, a huge amount of work needs to be done, and you need to be ready to dive into it headfirst. Until someone appears who says, "I'm responsible for everything, and I'll solve everything" (not Vigo), the process of holding a CIS tournament in Moscow will continue to be up in the air.

I also don't like how St. Petersburg was presented. Here's the thing: the down payment needs to be made in 3 days. As a true "vatnik" (a derogatory term for a Russian nationalist), I don't like quick and instant decisions. I perceive this approach as: "No one is doing anything, there's a working option, and the CIS tournament will be there." That is, it's simply a statement of fact that the CIS tournament will be in St. Petersburg. I'm not saying that's bad, it's just a fact. Therefore, I, like many others, don't see the point in expressing my opinion because it seems that everything has already been decided, and people are just booking accommodation. For most people, the location doesn't matter at all; they'll go wherever, even to Kaliningrad or Vladivostok.
