From a gameplay perspective, Genshin Impact doesn't require you to have a large number of characters, but since it's a gacha game, the desire to obtain a specific character is one of the main motivating factors. However, there are certain problems with this due to the low inflow of resources, but in terms of rates, there's no difference compared to GBF (I would even say that they are better here, because you are guaranteed to get four-star characters, which, unlike in SRok, are more than usable). There, you are deceived with a 6% chance of getting an SSR, while the chance of getting something you actually want rarely exceeds 0.3%, which is especially noticeable when you've been playing for a long time – the rates seem high, but out of 6%, 5.7% is useless junk. In any other game I've played, the rates are more attractive, even in FGO, which is often used as an example of a bad gacha. The probability of getting a desired five-star character is 0.8%, which is almost three times higher than in GBF and Genshin.
