It definitely would have been possible not to ban all these workarounds with the pipes, but simply adapt a few of them for passage, adding a couple of extra quests and rewards in similar locations. Ah well...

I should note that the snake-like paths are one of the most important elements of the author's unique style; without them, the overall "meme-worthiness" is significantly reduced. For example, on the map "Adventure Tunnels," the author really went all out in this regard.
