Well, how can I put it... Different tastes and preferences. In the case of books, the fact that I don't really enjoy reading played a big role. And even if I do decide to read something, I'd rather read a visual novel because the emotional impact is 100 times stronger. As for games... The problem is most likely with the setting and the characters that inhabit it. If before I could play any game without any problems, now I only play a couple of titles a year, and only when the world and its characters are interesting to me (or the game is very good in terms of gameplay).
