Let's make our own models (and maybe even animations)

To be honest, I haven't played Quake, so I don't quite understand what the point of this sword is. Is it just a sword-enemy without a character holding it? It's funny, but I don't even know what else I could come up with. In terms of something more elaborate than "destroying a vampire."
For some reason, monsters from Onimusha and other Transformers immediately come to mind. In terms of the sword assembling into some kind of creature, attacking, and then reassembling into a sword, or a ghost appearing, attacking with the sword, and then disappearing. I couldn't come up with anything smarter, and all of this seems rather mediocre.
