I went to the store in flip-flops, barefoot, and on my way back, I was heading to the elevator when I felt something brush against my foot with the toe of my flip-flop and my bare toes. I pressed the button, turned around to look, and a small rat ran out from under my feet.
It seems they were doing pest control in our building that month; the entire path along the entrance was littered with dead rats. A month later, no one had cleaned them up. They had already rotted and dried in the sun, and everyone just walked around them.
