This is how the sorceress justified her mistake in assessing the old woman's personality. Perhaps the old woman was deliberately pretending, purely for amusement. At least, the sorceress hoped for this scenario. Nevertheless, she decided to act based on the assumption that the alchemist's behavior was not a performance for visitors and that she was genuinely suffering from serious hearing problems. Therefore, Linderia decided to try a different approach: using writing materials and a piece of paper, she wrote their reason for visiting in large, clear letters for herself and her brothers, Bernhard. Of course, there was no guarantee that the old woman's vision problems were not even more severe than her hearing problems, but it was worth a try.
