Thanks to the efforts of the local youngsters, the abandoned house turned out to be not as abandoned as one might have initially expected. Dust was rare, and the place was furnished with simple but comfortable-looking furniture that seemed to have been recently assembled. A warm dinner, drinks, and everything needed for a feast awaited in the main hall. The only thing that didn't quite fit the overall picture was a beautiful marble statue, just over half a meter tall. Its features resembled the Visterian goddess of love, and a letter addressed to Raphael Ambrosius Costo lay beside it. Dear friend, once again, congratulations on your arrival in the city, and I want to apologize in advance if my surprise doesn't quite suit your taste, but whatever the case, don't be angry with the locals: they are good guys, just not very well-mannered due to life's circumstances.
