One of my favorite classes, it's a shame that it's not often possible to play it effectively in the expansions.

I agree. That's why I immediately seized the opportunity to play as one in this expansion, considering that they are well-implemented here. In Lapistia, I also tried playing as a battlemage, but it ended up being just running around the battlefield and resurrecting fallen comrades while Sarnissa carried the battles.
