There was an opportunity for scouting.

Other heroes -- another game doesn't work here, because the second hit-and-run attack was made by a hero who had been with Gom for a long time, the presence of another hero from the tavern practically did not affect the situation. Gom could have made the same moves the first time, but he was afraid and this was a mistake on his part, which he was not ashamed to correct with a dirty game. Money doesn't smell, as they say.
