The soft and soothing voice coming from the stranger's lips miraculously dispelled Maylin's hesitation. She completely forgot about her fear and decided to trust the stranger, taking his hand as he instructed.

He raised his other hand to Maylin's head and touched her forehead. Countless worlds flashed before the girl's eyes. Their birth, development, and demise. Afterwards, she remembers her entire life, in the smallest details. All the horrors that happened to her, the violence and torture she had to endure. A terrible, indescribable pain pierces the girl, her legs give way, her heart clenches, and she can't breathe.

- Our pain is part of us. By forgetting it, we forget ourselves. We disappear. We return to the abyss. To nothingness. Remember yourself. Remember your pain, and I will help you overcome it.

The man hugs Maylin, preventing her from falling. The pain begins to subside. The echoes of horror and nightmares of the past become quieter and quieter, until they turn into a harmless whisper. In the stranger's arms, the girl feels as if she is in the arms of her own father, whom she never had.
