
One of the things shonen anime taught me is that to be a successful young man with a big heart, an ocean of talent, plenty of luck, a mountain of friends, and a promising future, you need to have a cool dad who will pass on his superior genes and raise you properly. Well, if your dad isn't cool, the best you can hope for is to be a third-rate character in such a protagonist's life, someone like a classmate who can be replaced or even removed altogether, and essentially nothing will change.
I don't really love sports, but it was easy to watch, because Japanese people can use almost any theme and still create an interesting product. And I guess I actually prefer baseball compared to other team sports. I think I'll watch the rest of the seasons too; there are... 5+ more, each with 25-26 episodes.
Oh yeah, one important note:
I approve of the difference in height.
