Do you have the same opinion about offline tournaments for the CIS region? (We shouldn't forget that players and viewers pay mandatory entry fees into the prize pool, so they fit your definition of customers, and as I understand it, players also pay in this case...)
For LAN tournaments, it's different; participants also spend money on travel and accommodation, often more than the prize pool. There is room for compromise here. But there should be a limit to everything; you can't always accommodate the players, as it will only make things worse. And you know all this yourself, just as well as I do. Online is simpler. You either agree with the rules and play, or you look for another tournament; there are plenty of them now.
