I focused on warriors, hoping to quickly capture the Guardian Outpost and gain momentum in the center. I revealed 4 high-level creatures, a single consolation prize, and a dwelling. Around day 115, I saw the Guardian Outpost, but it was guarded by red dragons with Guardian Spirits. A quick push was delayed, so I leveled up two heroes, Moner and Jeremy. Both went through a dwelling with earth, but neither picked up a tactic. On day 124, I attacked the Guardian Outpost with stats of 8, 6, 3, and 2.
The battle was tough. I got an angel, 4 Gigantes, and all the consolation prizes, leaving 33 Cyclops. I had no mana, and the road to the Castle was also difficult (without mana): Minotaur Kings, Pit Fiends, and, for dessert, 5 Black Dragons.
I reached the Castle, and the Cyclops were already weakened. I defeated Moner and, near the Castle, attacked an Air Elemental with 93 Thunderbirds. They beat me badly: they took all my creatures and 8 Cyclops, plus I had no money or resources, and the timer ran out. It was discouraging, but then my opponent emerged on a Dimmer. I suspect they had built up their resources.
Anyway, we wandered around, gathering resources, and I scouted the opponent's center (red was dominant).
On day 127, my opponent made a mistake, miscalculating their movement, and their army ended up on a strong Andar near the Castle with only 30 mana.
On day 131, I captured the Castle, defeated Moner with double mana, and attacked. They had a larger army, but I had 220 mana against their 30, and my stats were slightly better. In the end, I had 30 Ducks left, and my opponent bought themselves out with 6 Cyclops, an Angel, and Nixies.
I took control of my center and started looking for creatures in my opponent's territory. There was no Town Portal, and the timer was ticking. On day 134, my opponent attacked, with 30+ Cyclops and some other creatures. They retook their Castle. I didn't dare attack; I had little mana and no Mass Haste. I gathered a box of Bears and armor with -25% damage.
On day 135, my opponent made another mistake, getting stuck near a Utopian. I retook the central cities and defended with Moner.
On day 141, I attacked them in their Castle: 16 Bears, 53 Ducks, and 3 Gigantes on my side, against an Angel, 22 Ducks, 30 Cyclops, and 15 Thunderbirds on their side in the fort. Luckily, the walls fell quickly. I defeated them in 3 rounds. If they had a Citadel, it could have ended badly: they had a Castle and 500 mana, against my 140 with a Fortress.
Thanks for the game.
