Using the Gomunguls vs. Stinger series on 6LM10b as an example, can anyone explain what the problem is with diplomacy in this mod?

In short, LM10 isn't the most "diplomatic" map, and Necropolis also expands much faster, even without considering the diplomacy bonus they receive. On LM10, joining a bunch of small guards and converting them into your faction is a great strategy, while for a diplomacy-focused faction, you need a combat stack, making it easier to gather units for combat than to search for potential allies on the map.
P.S. I haven't tested all the nuances of diplomacy and Necropolis in the fresh mode with the "diplomacy" option enabled, so I might be wrong about some things.
